Stop Reckless Driving was born from grief — and transformed into purpose.
In 2019, our founder lost a close family member to a reckless driver who ran a red light at high speed. In the aftermath, they discovered how many others in their community had experienced the same devastating loss — and how few resources existed to support them or prevent future tragedies.
What began as a small support group quickly evolved into a full advocacy organization. We organized our first community rally in 2020 with 200 attendees. By 2022, we had expanded to multiple cities, partnered with schools and local government, and built a network of thousands of advocates.
Today, our team of dedicated volunteers and staff work year-round to educate, advocate, and remember. Every event we hold, every article we publish, every name on our memorial wall is a step toward safer roads for everyone.
